November 24 is the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Holodomor and Political Repression

November 24 is the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Holodomor and Political Repression, a day of deep grief and longing for the millions of ragged lives of our compatriots.

For Ukraine, 1933 was a time of national catastrophe. The consequence of the crime of genocide, besides the physical killing of millions of people, was the destruction of the traditional way of life. Experienced mass hunger for many decades, violated the natural genetic fund of Ukrainians, led to moral and psychological changes in the consciousness of the nation.

Our duty is to always carry in our hearts the memory of those terrible events. We must also do everything to prevent such a tragedy in the future.

I believe that by uniting in memory of the millions of innocent victims of the Holodomor, we reaffirm our common commitment to the idea of creating a bright future for Ukraine and promoting respect for common freedoms and human rights, which are the inalienable right of all humanity.
