On March 14, 2019, a round table entitled “The State Service in the System of National Security of Ukraine” was held at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University.
Participating in the event were leading scientists, heads of state departments and educational institutions, chairmen of special councils and departments of public administration and administration, civil servants.
Konstantin Vashchenko, the Head of the National Agency of Ukraine for Civil Service of Ukraine, took part in the discussion of topical issues related to national security in the context of reforming the civil service, as well as in determining strategic directions of training civil servants in modern conditions; Advisor to the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Taras Melnychuk; People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on State Building, Regional Policy and Local Self-Government Serhiy Kudlaenko; President of the Federation of Handball of Ukraine Andriy Melnyk; Oleg Rafalsky, Director of the Institute of Political and Ethnic Studies named after I.F.Kuras, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Anatoly Konversky; Vice-Rector of the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management Yevhen Romanenko and others.
The participants of the event reported on the main aspects of national security and the implementation of selected strategies in the current economic and social realities. Also, during the communicative event, the participants drew attention to the need for systematic analysis of the effectiveness of the functioning of the civil service, further informing the public about its activities aimed at protecting national values ​​and the realization of national interests.
Yevhen Romanenko in his speech highlighted the fact that today our state faces an encroachment on its sovereignty and territorial integrity. This, in turn, requires the identification of key areas of the civil service activities, the classification of its main tasks and the outline of promising directions for ensuring the national security of Ukraine.
